On Tour at University of Colorado-Boulder - November, 2023

The U.S. Soldiers and Veterans Who Opposed the War exhibit was shown to visitors at the University of Colorado-Boulder in the Norlin Library from October 30 - December 15, 2023.

The exhibit kicked off with an opening reception with appearances and remarks from Professor Rachel Rinaldo, Director, Center for Asian Studies; Ron Carver, Exhibit Curator, Director, Waging Peace in Vietnam Education Fund; Curt Stocker, UC Boulder Alumnus and Veteran, publisher of underground GI Newspaper; and Susan Schnall, former US Navy Lieutenant who led hundreds of sailors and soldiers on peace march October 12, 1968. National President of Veterans for Peace.

Early in November, screenings of the films “Sir! No Sir!” and “The Whistleblower of My Lai” were shown.

People could also attend a talk by Ron Haeberle (photographer at the My Lai massacre), a panel discussion of the Legacies of War, and a book talk about defending black sailors from discriminatory persecution as related to the book “Against All Tides: The Unknown Story of the USS Kitty Hawk Race Riot.”

Additionally, a group of distinguished poets were assembled to share readings of their works about War in Vietnam and its Consequences.

Finally, an essay contest challenged students to reflect on their experience viewing the exhibit.
